Use of colour

It starts from an idea that comes to life thanks to the combinations of colour and material. Games of colours that give personality to the environment, transmitting sensations to those who live it.

The home is the private place, compared to the world, of everyday life. The root of the word living is habitat: environment and home, the outside and the inside of us. A space like a dress that we wear, protecting ourselves. Like it, if we have chosen it, because it is beautiful and comfortable, but that sometimes we would like to change it, leaving it … it is still a bond. One of the necessary elements is comfort, an importance often underestimated. The concept of habitat, understood as quality of living, creating good habits. The ability of a space is to evolve and change over time, together with those who live in it.

It is important to create comfort, both in space and in products, which determines the pleasant sensation not only physical but also mental. “The word comfort derives from the Latin” comfort, “that is” to strengthen more “, to arrive at a safe, intimate, personal-inspired state of mind.

The role of the furniture elements must be an active tool, contributing with color the material and patterns, to a better general comfort, finding the right balance with functionality. Details make the physical quality of the space, giving safety and well-being!

All colours exist because…

All colours exist because we see them with light, without them they would not exist! The perception that derives from it is linked to an intrinsic characteristic of light and each colour has its own angle of refraction…

Inspired by the various books dedicated to colour (you noticed how the topic ‘colours’ is in vogue, in the bookstore and in the web) I’d like to try to consider it ‘my way’. Simplifying, I will consider the various theories and theses of scholars, scientists, and artists. I will try to get closer to the latter, with a certain humility and gratitude, to create with images, a minimum of ’emotional atmosphere’. I note that it is difficult to feel free from the various innate and acquired conditionings (beautiful or ugly they are) when our attention is drawn to the colour: object, place, situation, mood, health, food, dress, fashion, social, marketing … (the latter then acts as a tyrant).

Each of us perceives it differently and the way we react can depend on various factors: view and origin. Artists often use colour to explore thoughts, feelings, their place in the world … Colours continually influence our life, even changing our emotions, sensations, mood. They urge aesthetic taste, redesigning our relationship with society. Strange to say but they also intervene on time with the perceptual effect. Try to experiment with being in different colored rooms: time speeds up or slows down depending on whether the room is red or blue … The colours we choose declare who we are, what we love and how we live. We evolve and colour is witness to our transformations and passions; it has an immediate impact, working on a subconscious level: instinctively we understand if we like or don’t like a certain combination …
Remembering therefore that the sum of all colours produces white light, I will start from here (in the next release). Every time I will deal with a different colour: the nuances, the meanings, the uses, the benefits, the trends and preferences, for oneself and others, in the home and outside … obviously taking into consideration only some ideas and topics, also dictated by mine experiences. I will try to be ‘almost synthetic and ironic’: I try!
